    FLSA Status:                          Non-Exempt

    Position Status:                   Permanent Full-Time

    Work Schedule:                   Monday-Friday (8:00AM-5:00PM) – may change due to special projects and/or assignments

    Base Salary Range:             $15-17 per hour

    Travel:                                   up to 5% in state travel; may require occasional out of CA travel

    Summary Role: IT Technician

    Westport Properties continues to grow rapidly and we are seeking an IT Technician with a strong knowledge of computer hardware and software and proficient knowledge in troubleshooting technical problems. The IT Technician will have the ability to work closely with employees, management and IT vendors with a variety of IT skills levels.  A strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programs is a must for this position.


    IT Technician Key Functions & Areas of Responsibilities:

    • Provide functional IT Support to all levels of contact within the organization
    • Diagnose computer problems, monitor computer processing systems, install software and perform tests on computer equipment and programs
    • Troubleshoot technical problems
    • Assists IT Manager to set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance and teach clients to use programs
    • Assist with drafting general IT procedure manuals (i.e. tutorials, how-to-guides)
    • Small percentage of travel may be required depending on project assignment
    • Additional duties will include coordinating data handling with Insurance Manager for Property & Tenant Loss Claims
    • Other Duties As Assigned
      • May include minor repairs and computer parts ordering
      • Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company need and requirements


    Qualifications Required:

    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a technical role (i.e. Help Desk, Technical Support)
    • Relevant experience in matters related: Networking, Driver updates, Flashing BIOS
    • Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to understand and convey Company Policies and relevant industry standards
    • Ability to analyze and configure data for reporting purposes
    • Ability to handle all Department and Company matters with confidentiality and in a timely matter
    • Ability to effectively communicate while exercising diplomacy, sound judgment and tact
    • Ability to deal effectively with co-workers, department supervisors and managers, and other consultants and/or vendors
    • Ability to meet deadlines on time with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work flexible hours depending on various departmental project deadlines and/or Company sponsored programs (may include evenings and weekends)

    • High School Diploma with some college required
    • Preferred Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in Computer systems or similar field
    • IT Certification preferred but not required (A+ Certification, Linux+ certification, Microsoft certified IT Professional, Cisco certified network associate, etc.)
    • Relevant years of work experience and certification may substitute for degree requirement


    Physical Demands

    • Stationary Position: frequently remains stationary up to 90% of the time and sitting up to 8 hours in a day
    • Move/Traverse: infrequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk
    • Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 10 pounds
    • Hearing and Speech: frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
    • Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far
