We are seeking to fill an open positions available in one of our self-storage facilities.

  • Assistant Property Manager/ Maintenance (full-time): salary range $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.

 

The open position is a permanent full-time position working with an opportunity for advancement with one of the leading providers of self-storage in the United States. The qualified candidates would be an energetic, outgoing, self-starter, who has excellent knowledge of different facilities maintenance. The qualified candidate will also have a proven successful track record in facilities maintenance role handling the day-to-day repairs and maintenance work in office premises and buildings in addition to general customer service, sales and general office back up.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform repairs and maintenance work in office premises and buildings
  • Perform minor electrical such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, timers and switches
  • Repair swing doors, roll-up doors, latches and hasps (locking mechanism)
  • Perform minor plumbing such as toilet, faucet, garbage disposal repairs
  • Perform minor drywall and carpentry to repair damage and update facilities
  • Installation of appliances such as new water heaters, minor plumbing systems and fixtures, and kitchen components
  • Paint outdoor and indoor surfaces made of all materials such as wood, concrete, or brick
  • Assist in other facilities duties as assigned
  • Regular worksite attendance in accordance with Company’s Attendance Policy is required for this position
  • Other Duties As Assigned
    • Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company need and requirements
    • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, with frequent interruptions or distractions and within tight deadlines
    •  
  • Cleans space(s) as vacated, hallways, and grounds as needed. Clean office and restrooms daily
  • Maintains a neat, clean, safe and secure facility including minor maintenance and daily lock checks as well as visual inspection daily
  • Assist in preparing units for auction as prescribed by law, and approved by management
  • Effectively communicates with management and fellow associates
  • Other functional duties as assigned

 

 

  • Work Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills are required
  • Good organizational skills  

 

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

    • Prior self-storage experience preferred but not required
    • Self-Storage Software Experience is a plus
    • Customer service, retail sales, marketing experience is preferred
    • General office and telephone skills are preferred
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail
    • Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation are required in order to perform essential functions of this job
  • Weekend availability is required

    Possess the eagerness and work ethics to succeed

     

Education

 

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Some college is preferred

 

Physical Demands

  • Stationary Position: frequently remains stationary up to 50% of the time and sitting up to 6 hours
  • Move/Traverse: frequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk
  • Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Hearing and Speech: frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with clients who have inquiries about their storage accounts, billing invoice or other related account matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, facility objects near and far
  • Climb: occasionally ascends/descends a flight of stairs to service the lights and/or reach overhead

  • Outdoor and indoor
  • Frequent outdoor exposure working in outdoor weather conditions
  • Noise level ranges from moderately low to moderately high due to handling various machinery
  • Noise level ranges from low to moderate (if in office setting)
  • Noise level ranges from moderate to high (if on construction worksite)
